Technology is everywhere from our cars on the road to televisions in our houses and phones in our pockets. Tech is very useful to production and manufacturing to construct the basic needs and wants for our survival. So right away, it’s associated with being something positive. When taking a closer look at tech though, is it really a good thing, or is it a hidden evil waiting to take us down from the inside? We have already let it into our lives full force, and already invited it into our houses. Could it be lurking, waiting for when we fully depend upon it to strike? It s already in our lives and slowly forcing our dependence upon it. It s only a matter of time before it handicaps us both mentally and physically. Technology negatively impacts our social norms. I understand that technology doesn t always impact our social norms negatively, but in general it leans towards being more negative overall. Technology can even positively affect our social norms, sometimes with social media like Skype, Facebook or Snapchat. The Heroic Transformation of Beowulf The poem Beowulf presents the transformation of Beowulf from a brave warrior to an honorable King. The evolution of Beowulf shows how he fulfills his obligations to the warrior’s heroic code and then transcends into a King who loyally protects his Kingdom. Beowulf’s transformation is shown through a progression of three increasingly more difficult conflicts he must overcome- first with Grendel, then Grendel’s mother and finally against the mighty dragon. No. From The first question we asked was whether they preferred to ask someone out, or would rather be asked out on a date. Figure 1-1 shows the percentage of males and females who would prefer to be asked out, or asked someone out. As noted in the histogram, a great majority of the women, 93%, preferred to be asked out only 6% preferred to do the asking. The majority of men preferred to do the asking, 83%, while 16% preferred to be asked out on a date. It is interesting that more men preferred to be asked out (16%) than there were women who preferred to do the asking (6%). That difference suggests that 10% of men may be waiting quite a while for a woman to ask them out on a first date.
